Here is the NYC Transit service plan info for the upcoming July 4th holiday:

New York City Buses

Buses operated by MTA New York City Transit and the MTA Bus Company will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, July 4. There are many routes that either do not operate on Saturdays or do not run on part of the route at certain hours. Customers traveling on the Fourth of July should check Saturday schedules, lines and routes. The following bus routes may be affected by delays and detours: M5; M8; M9; M14 A/D; M15 SBS; M20; M21; M22; M 23; M31; M34 SBS; M42; M50; M57; M103; B6; B24; B25; B32; B38; B41; B52; B61; B62; B63; B67; B69; B103; Q32; Q59; Q60; Q101; Q103.

New York City Subway

On Monday, July 4, subways will operate on a Saturday schedule. There will be no 5 Train train service in Brooklyn, and no 6 Train & 7 Train express service. B Traintrains will not run, customers are encouraged to use the A Train C Train D Train or Q Traininstead. M Train trains will not run between Delancey-Essex Sts and 71 Ave; Q Train service is suspended between 57 St-7Av and Ditmars Blvd; and Z Train service is suspended, take the J Train instead.

There will be increased subway service on the 4 Train 7 Train A Train C Train F Train and S Train 42nd Street Shuttle prior to and following the Macy’s fireworks celebration, which will originate from five barges on the East River: four between 23rd and 37th Streets, and one south of the Brooklyn Bridge Park from 9:20 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

LIRR July 4th 2016 Service Plan

Here is the LIRR service plan for the upcoming July 4th holiday:

MTA Long Island Rail Road is helping customers enjoy their summer holiday weekend by providing 10 additional early getaway trains on Friday and enhanced service on Thursday for those looking to escape even earlier. And that’s not all – beginning this Friday, July 1, the LIRR is offering new Fire Island Ferry connections on top of the Railroad’s already enhanced summer Montauk Branch schedule.

A regular weekend schedule will be in effect on Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3 (see Montauk Branch details below). LIRR will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, July 4. Customers should also note there is a bicycle ban on Friday, July 1, Saturday, July 2, and Monday, July 4.

Ronkonkoma Branch

1:49 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Woodside, Jamaica, Mineola, Hicksville, then making all stops to Ronkonkoma

Port Jefferson Branch

2:08 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, then making all stops to Huntington

2:29 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, New Hyde Park, then making all stops to Huntington

3:24 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, Westbury and Hicksville

Babylon Branch

2:19 p.m. from Penn Station express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon

2:32 p.m. from Penn Station express to Lynbrook, then all stops to Babylon

3:00 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre, all stops to Babylon

3:31 p.m. from Penn Station express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon

Port Washington Branch

3:40 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Woodside, Flushing Main St., all stops to Great Neck

Far Rockaway Branch

3:48 p.m. from Penn Station stopping at Locust Manor, then making all stops to Far Rockaway

To the Hamptons and Montauk:

Summer Fridays on the Montauk Branch are already very busy, and the Friday before July 4th weekend is even busier with thousands of extra customers using LIRR service to the East End. We strongly encourage customers to avoid the “Friday crunch” by providing extra service beyond our normal
Thursday offerings.

Thursday, June 30:

The Montauk Branch will operate on a regular summer Friday timetable, including

4:06 p.m. from Penn Station, first stop Westhampton

4:30 p.m. from Hunterspoint Avenue, stopping at Jamaica, Bay Shore, Sayville then all stops to Montauk. Connection departs Penn Station at 4:19 p.m. with transfer at Jamaica

5:09 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk will be extended to Montauk, making all stops from Babylon to Montauk.

6:17 p.m. from Jamaica, stopping at Bay Shore, then all stops to Montauk (except Bellport). Connection departs Penn Station at 5:51 p.m. with transfer at Jamaica

8:53 p.m. from Jamaica, stopping at Babylon, then all stops to Montauk (except Bellport). Connection departs Penn Station at 8:30 p.m. with transfer at Jamaica

Plus, three other regular, year‐round departures throughout the day

Friday, July 1:

The Montauk Branch will operate on a regular summer Friday timetable, including

2:07 p.m. train from Jamaica, stopping at Westhampton, then all stops to Montauk. Connection departs Penn Station at 1:42 p.m., and Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn at 1:35 p.m.

4:06 p.m. Cannonball train from Penn Station

5:09 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk will be extended to Montauk, making all stops from Babylon to Montauk

7:38 p.m. train from Jamaica, with connecting trains departing Penn Station at 7:11 p.m. and Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn, at 7:06 p.m.

Plus, six regular, year‐round departures throughout the day and night

Saturday, July 2 & Sunday, July 3:

The LIRR is running on a Saturday schedule (Sunday/Holiday‐only trains will NOT be running).

Monday, July 4:

The LIRR is running on a Sunday schedule (Sunday/Holiday‐only trains will be running)

To Fire Island Ferry Connections

For those who must travel on Friday, LIRR will provide new Friday service from July 1 through September 2 to help relieve crowding.

Friday, July 1:

Customers are encouraged to use these two “relief” trains instead of the popular trains traveling through to Montauk:

Customers traveling to Bay Shore, Sayville or Patchogue who normally take the 7:49 a.m. train from Penn Station, transferring at Babylon to the 8:52 a.m. Montauk train, can instead take the 7:39 a.m. train from Penn Station, transferring at Jamaica for the new 8:04 a.m. train for Babylon, Bay Shore, Sayville and Patchogue

Instead of the 11:05 a.m. train from Penn Station, transferring at Jamaica for the 11:30 a.m. Montauk train, customers can use the new 10:59 a.m. departure from Penn Station transferring at Babylon to the new 12:02 p.m. diesel train to Bay Shore, Sayville and Patchogue.

To Greenport & the North Fork

Friday, July 1:

Regular weekday service plus the 3:55 p.m. train from Penn Station connecting at Ronkonkoma for the 5:21 p.m. eastbound train making all stops to Greenport.

Metro North July 4th 2016 Service Plan

Here is the Metro-North service plan for the upcoming July 4th holiday:

Metro‐North Railroad will have lots of extra service on Friday, July 1, to help those who want to get a jump start on the long weekend, with 17 extra “getaway” departures from Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4:11 p.m. To allow for the service, certain departures from Grand Central Terminal later that evening will be combined or cancelled.

A regular weekend schedule will be in effect on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3. On Monday, July 4, Metro‐North will operate on a Sunday schedule, with an additional outbound train on the New Haven Line for customers traveling home from the Macy’s fireworks display, and an additional inbound train on the Port Jervis Line.

Friday, July 1:

New Haven Line

Nine extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

12:58 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:01 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:28 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:31 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.

2:56 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Stamford then all stations between Noroton Heights and South Norwalk.

2:59 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.

3:26 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.

3:29 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

4:00 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Stamford, and all stations between Bridgeport and New Haven.

The following New Haven Line trains from Grand Central will not operate or are combined:

The 5:18 p.m. to Harrison and the 5:21 p.m. to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 5:21 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street and all stations between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.

The 5:41 p.m. to New Haven will not operate.

The 5:57 p.m. to Harrison and 6:02 p.m. to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 6:02 p.m., making all stops between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.

The 6:07 p.m. to New Haven and the 6:11 p.m. to Bridgeport are combined, departing Grand Central at 6:11 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street and all stations between South Norwalk and New Haven.

The 6:49 p.m. to New Haven will not operate.

The 7:09 p.m. to Harrison will not operate.

Harlem Line

Three extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

2:18 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then all stations between Scarsdale and North White Plains.

3:13 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then White Plains and North White Plains only.

3:34 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, White Plains, North White Plains, then all stations between Goldens Bridge and Southeast.

The following Harlem Line trains from Grand Central will not operate:

The 5:27 p.m. to Southeast

The 5:38 p.m. to Crestwood

The 5:58 p.m. to Crestwood

The 7:03 p.m. to North White Plains

Hudson Line

Five extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

1:38 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

2:38 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

3:11 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then all stops between Tarrytown and Croton‐Harmon.

3:45 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

4:11 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

The following Hudson Line trains from Grand Central will not operate:

The 5:29 p.m. train to Poughkeepsie

The 5:57 p.m. to Croton‐Harmon

The 6:12 p.m. to Poughkeepsie

Hudson Line Connecting Services:

The Hudson Rail Link will begin a peak level of buses at Spuyten Duyvil starting with the 2:20 p.m. train from Grand Central and at Riverdale starting with the 3:21 p.m. train from Grand Central.

The Haverstraw‐Ossining Ferry will have an early ferry trip that will meet the 3:11 p.m. train from Grand Central, which arrives in Ossining at 3:56 p.m. Since the 5:57 p.m. train will not operate, a 6:00 p.m. train from Grand Central, which arrives in Ossining at 6:53
p.m., will be met by the ferry. To accommodate this trip, the ferry will not meet the regular 6:22 p.m. train from Grand Central.

The Newburgh‐Beacon Ferry will have three early trips meeting the 2:43 p.m., 3:18 p.m. and 3:48 p.m. trains from Grand Central.

Port Jervis Line

The regularly scheduled departure from Hoboken at 2:41 p.m., stopping at Secaucus Junction, and all stops between Suffern and Middletown/Town of Wallkill, will be extended to stop at Otisville and Port Jervis. Customers from Manhattan wishing to connect to this train should be on the 2:29 p.m. departure from New York‐Penn Station to connect at Secaucus Junction. To accommodate this service, the 6:15 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Port Jervis will not operate.

Pascack Valley Line

The regularly scheduled Pascack Valley Friday‐only train will depart Hoboken at 2:58 p.m., and stop at Secaucus Junction, select stations in New Jersey, and Pearl River, Nanuet and Spring Valley. Customers from Manhattan who are wishing to connect to this train should be on the 2:51 p.m. departure from New York‐Penn Station to connect at Secaucus Junction. To accommodate this train, the 7:20 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Spring Valley will not operate.

On Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3, a regular weekend schedule will be in effect on all Lines.

On Monday, July 4, a Sunday schedule will be in effect on all lines, with an extra outbound train on the New Haven Line and an extra inbound train on the Port Jervis Lines.

On Monday, July 4, there will be an additional train on the New Haven Line departing from Grand Central Terminal at 11:13 p.m., and Harlem, 125th Street at 123 p.m., making stops at Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield‐Metro, Bridgeport, Startford, West Haven and New Haven.

On Monday, July 4, an extra afternoon inbound train will depart Port Jervis at 4:09 p.m., making all stops through Suffern, then run express to Secaucus Junction and Hoboken, arriving at 6:27 p.m. A connection from Secaucus Junction to New York‐Penn Station will depart at 6:22 PM, arriving in New York at 6:36 p.m.

On Monday, July 4, the Hudson Line connecting services‐‐the Hudson Rail Link, the Haverstraw‐ Ossining ferry and the Newburgh‐Beacon ferry‐‐will not operate.

Metro‐North also provides service to Rye on the New Haven Line, with shuttle buses to Rye Playland where Westchester County puts on its own spectacular fireworks extravaganza over the Long Island Sound.

SI Railway July 4th 2016 Service Plan

Here is the Staten Island Railway service plan info for the upcoming July 4th holiday:

Staten Island Railway customers looking to get a head start on the Fourth of July holiday will be able to catch earlier afternoon express train service on Friday, July 1 with MTA Staten Island Railway’s Early Departure Getaway schedule.

Extra SIR trains will be added earlier in the afternoon beginning at 2:30 p.m. from the St. George Ferry Terminal. There will be one express train and one local train awaiting every boat until 7:50 p.m. On the Fourth of July, SIR will operate on a Sunday schedule. Staten Island Railway is prepared to add additional service prior to and after the fireworks, as needed.
