Here is the Labor Day 2013 service plan info for NYC Transit:

MTA New York City Transit subways and buses and MTA Bus Company buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. Because of the J’Ouvert and West Indian-American Day Parades in Brooklyn on Labor Day, 4 trains will make local stops in Brooklyn, certain subway entrances in the parade area may be affected and buses in the area will be rerouted.

S.I. Railway Labor Day 2013 Service Plan

Here is the service plan for the MTA Staten Island Railway:

Staten Island customers looking to get a head start on their three-day weekend will be able to catch earlier afternoon express train service on Friday, August 30, with Staten Island Railway’s

Early Departure Getaway schedule. This schedule means extra SIR trains will be added earlier in the afternoon beginning at 2:31 p.m. from the St. George Ferry Terminal. There will be one express train and one local train awaiting every boat until 7:50 p.m. SIR will operate on a Sunday Schedule on Labor Day, Monday Sept. 2.

The Early Departure Getaway service plan on SIR is also available on the Friday leading into the President’s Day and Memorial Day weekends, the day before Independence Day, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and the day before the Christmas and New Year’s.

LIRR Labor Day 2013 Service Plan

As is always the case, the MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will be providing extra service for the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend. Here are the complete details:

The MTA Long Island Rail Road will provide additional early-afternoon service from Penn Station on Friday, August 30 for customers planning an early getaway for the start of the Labor Day Weekend.

The LIRR will be operating on a weekend schedule on August 31 and Sept. 1 and a Sunday/holiday schedule on Sept. 2. Please note that the additional Sunday afternoon Montauk Branch westbound trains from Montauk and the Hamptons will not operate on Sunday, Sept. 1, but instead operate on Monday, Sept. 2. The regular Monday-only return train departing from Montauk at 7:01 a.m., stopping at the Hamptons, and arriving at Hunterspoint Ave. at 9:57 a.m. will not run on Monday, Sept. 2, but instead will operate on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The extra early-afternoon trains will depart Penn Station starting at 2:08 p.m. on Friday, August 30. The extra service will include: three trains on the Port Jefferson Branch; three on the Babylon Branch; one on the Port Washington Branch; one on the Far Rockaway Branch, and one train to Jamaica for a connection to Montauk. The eastbound afternoon train from Ronkonkoma to Yaphank gets extended to Greenport on Friday, as it normally does on Fridays during the summer through Columbus Day weekend.

Port Jefferson Branch to Hicksville and Huntington:

2:08 PM stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, then all stops to Huntington.

2:29 PM stopping at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, New Hyde Park, then all stops to Huntington.

3:24 PM stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, Westbury and Hicksville.

Babylon Branch:

2:32 PM express to Lynbrook, then all stops to Babylon.

3:00 PM stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon.

3:31 PM express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon.

Port Washington Branch to Great Neck:

3:40 PM stopping at Woodside, Flushing-Main Street, then all stops to Great Neck.

Far Rockaway Branch:

3:48 PM express to Locust Manor then all stops to Far Rockaway.

Montauk Branch:

1:43 PM to Jamaica, with a Montauk train connection.

Ronkonkoma Branch to Greenport:

The 5:21 PM train from Ronkonkoma to Yaphank is extended on Friday making all stops to Greenport.

As is always the case, the MTA Metro-North will be providing extra service for the Labor Day 2013 holiday weekend. Here are the complete details:

You shouldn’t have to work hard to celebrate Labor Day! We’ve got plenty of service to get you around for the entire holiday weekend.

On Friday, August 30, we offer early “getaway” trains. See details below.

On Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1 regular Weekend Service is in effect.

On Labor Day, Monday, September 2, Sunday Service will be in effect.

Getaway Service on Friday, August 30

On the Hudson Line:

Extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

1:41 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

1:45 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining and Croton-Harmon.

1:48 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stops between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie.

2:41 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

2:45 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining and Croton-Harmon.

2:48 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stops between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie.

3:46 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street and Croton-Harmon.

4:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, and Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate:

The 5:29 PM train to Poughkeepsie will not operate.

The 5:57 PM to Croton-Harmon will not operate.

The 6:12 PM to Poughkeepsie will not operate.

The 6:19 PM to Croton-Harmon will not operate.

For Hudson Line Connecting Services

The Hudson Rail Link will begin a peak level of buses at Spuyten Duyvil starting with the 2:20 PM train from Grand Central and at Riverdale starting with the 3:21 PM train from Grand Central.

The Haverstraw – Ossining Ferry will have an early ferry trip that will meet the 2:51 PM train from Grand Central that arrives at Ossining at 3:48 PM. Since the 5:57 PM and 6:19 PM trains will not operate, a 6 PM train from Grand Central that arrives at Ossining at 6:50 PM, will be met by the ferry.

The Newburgh – Beacon Ferry will have three early trips meeting the 2:48 PM, the 3:18 PM and 3:50 PM trains from Grand Central.

On the Harlem Line:

Extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

2:18 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Scarsdale and North White Plains.

3:13 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then White Plains and North White Plains only.

3:34 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, White Plains, then all stations between Goldens Bridge through Southeast.

The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate or will make additional stops:

The 5:25 PM to Brewster will not operate.

The 6:36 PM to North White Plains will not operate.

The 7:02 PM to North White Plains will not operate.

On the New Haven Line:

Extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

12:01 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

1:01 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

1:58 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford, then all stations to South Norwalk.

2:01 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport then all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:28 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.

2:31 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.

The 5:36 PM to Harrison will not operate.

The 5:59 PM to Harrison and 6:02 PM to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 6:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, and all stops between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.

The 6:11 PM to New Haven will also stop at South Norwalk and Westport.

The 6:17 PM to Bridgeport will not operate.

The 6:38 PM to Harrison will not operate.

The 7:10 PM to Harrison will not operate.

The 8:03 PM to New Haven will not operate.
