Avenue X F Line Station Renewal Completed

Earlier today, MTA NYC Transit announced that station renewal work at the Avenue X F Train station has been completed. The station will reopen this Monday. Here are the complete details via the official press release:

Beginning at 5:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, F Line customers will once again have access to the newly refurbished Queens-bound platform at the Avenue X station in Brooklyn. The six-month station renewal project is part of a major $80.5 million capital project, awarded to Kiska Construction Inc. that will completely renew nine stations along the Culver F Line.

$9.2 million dollars in improvements at Avenue X include the replacement of staircases, doors, windows, concrete precast platform panels, as well as ADA improvements consisting of the installation of a new platform edge and tactile warning strips. The station was painted and outfitted with new windscreen panels, light fixtures, railings and a new mezzanine passageway and floor.

The Queens-bound platform at Avenue X was closed on June 29, 2015. “These improvements will create significantly better conditions for our customers, and we appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while we carried out this important work,” said Acting SVP Subways, Wynton Habersham.
