NYC Transit Announces S55 & S74 Reroutes

Earlier today, MTA NYC Transit announced via press release that the S55 & S74 will be undergoing reroutes due to the closure of the Arthur Kill Correctional Facility:

Due to the closure of the Arthur Kill Correctional Facility, MTA New York City Transit announced the S55 and S74 trips to the facility will end Friday, December 2. All following S74 trips will bypass the facility in both directions. The S55, which is a Monday to Friday service, will begin and end on Bloomingdale Road effective Monday, December 5.

On Monday, S55 trips will terminate at a new stop on Bloomingdale Road, far side of Veterans Road East. The S55 will leave the terminal stand on Bloomingdale Road turn right onto Arthur Kill Road, right onto Zebra Place, right onto Veterans Road West and then left onto Bloomingdale Road to the new first stop on Bloomingdale Road, near side of Veterans Road East. The two northbound and two southbound stops on Arthur Kill Road near the former correctional facility will be discontinued.
