Emergency Repair Work Affects E & M Service

Just a short time ago, MTA NYC Transit announced that due to emergency track work, service on the E Train & M Train would be affected. Here are the details courtesy of a press release sent out:

Due to necessary switch repairs north of the Lexington Avenue-53rd Street station on the E/M, northbound M trains will run via the 63rd Street tunnel (F line), from 47th-50th Street/Rockefeller Center to 36th Street, Queens. Customers on the E can also expect delays. In addition, due to crowded conditions at Lexington Avenue-53rd Street, access to the platform may be restricted. The platform will be “exit only” when necessary.

Instead of using the E or M to enter the system, Queens-bound customers are urged to use the R at Lexington Avenue-59th Street. For Penn Station, or the Port Authority Bus Terminal, instead of using the E, use the N, Q or R from Lexington Avenue-59th Street to Times Square or 34th Street-Herald Square.
