B54 Returns To MetroTech Center

Yesterday afternoon, MTA New York City Transit announced the return of the B54 to the MetroTech Center. Here are the complete details courtesy of a press release they sent out:

MTA New York City Transit announces the rerouting of the B54 through the MetroTech Center effective Sunday, November 7. The reroute, via the internal roadway, MetroTech Walk, will remove the B54 buses from the traffic-congested Flatbush Avenue extension and Tillary Street.

The move is expected to improve reliability and provide a more direct route for customers traveling to the Jay Street-MetroTech (A, C, F) station. It will also provide access to nearby schools and the MetroTech Center.

The westbound B54 will operate on its regular route from Ridgewood to Downtown Brooklyn via Myrtle Avenue, turning left at Duffield Street, then right from Duffield Street to the MetroTech Roadway, then left onto Jay Street.

The two new westbound B54 stops will be on MetroTech Walk at the near side of Lawrence Street and on Jay Street at the near side of Willoughby Street. The two old westbound stops on Jay Street at Tillary Street and on Jay Street at Myrtle Avenue will be discontinued.

The eastbound B54 route and bus stops, and all terminal stands and destination signs will remain unchanged.
