Man Injured During Robbery Near The LIRR Freeport Parking Lot

On Sunday morning a 40 year old man was injured during a robbery near one of the parking lots at the Long Island Railroad’s (LIRR) Freeport station. Joseph Mallia of Newsday has the brief report:

A 40-year-old man walking in Freeport near a Long Island Rail Road parking lot early Sunday was knocked to the ground and beaten by four attackers who robbed him of cash and a gold chain, police said.

In the 3:05 a.m. attack near the LIRR parking lot No. 7, the four men threw the victim to the ground and kicked him while taking his valuables, Nassau police said. The attackers then ran away north on Henry Street.

The victim suffered knee pain and facial injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

I hope the man recovers from his injuries & the criminals responsible for them are captured. I would not want to be anywhere near Freeport at 3 a.m. as it is not what it used to be!
